This replica of a Viking sword chape of the eastern type is made after a historical model from Varbola in Finland and dates from the 10th to 11th century.

These types of sword chapes were used especially in the Eastern Baltic region and in Russia.

The dimensions of the sword chape fitting are 8.5 x 5.5 cm.
The inner width is 4.8 x 2.2 cm.

The Viking Age sword chape is made of bronze or in real silver-plated.

To attach it to the scabbard, it is best to put it on and fix it to the side with a so-called gap-filling glue. In addition, there are small openings in the lanyard so that it can also be secured with thin pins or nails.
