Small Viking hatchet in the shape of a bearded axe.
Hatchets and axes, like this pretty, small Viking axe, were widespread in the Viking Age. This is a handy, small version of the infamous bearded axe.
With its sweeping wooden handle and aesthetically shaped axe head, this small, handy and very suitable for everyday use Viking axe is a real gem.
Dimensions: Handle 25 cm, head 10 x 9 x 2 cm.
The axe head is masterfully shaped and is based on original finds from the Viking Age. The surface of the Viking axe is polished to a shine and the cutting edge is sharply ground.
The axe head is made of stainless steel type 430, a high quality steel alloy containing 18% chromium and no nickel.
Such 18 / 0 stainless steel has a noble appearance and a durable, high-gloss finish and offers excellent resistance to rust and corrosion. The hardness is HRC 52-55 Rockwell.
This Viking axe is perfect for all work around wood where brute force is less important than a well-aimed blow with the axe to bring out the shape, such as all carving work.
Optionally, you can order a blade protector for the Viking axe. This is particularly recommended if you want to carry the axe - as was often the case with the Vikings - tucked behind your belt and always ready to hand.
The dainty dimensions and the special shape of the axe head of this Viking axe make it possible to put the axe easily into the belt without it being a hindrance there. Moreover, it cannot fall out - so the beautiful piece is safely stored and man / woman always has it at hand.
