Bone dice as in ancient and medieval times.
This replica of a historical bone dice is handmade from real cattle bone and corresponds to original models of dice as used by the Romans and the Middle Ages.
Bone dice of this type were in fact in use from the pre-Roman Iron Age through the Viking Age to the late Middle Ages. So, this historical dice replica is an ideal and authentic accessory for many historical representations.
Typical for the bone dice in antiquity and the Middle Ages are the circular eye decorations. The size and the drilling of the eyes make each bone cube an individual unique piece.
As with the historical bone dice also this replica is not completely exact, as you would expect from our modern plastic cubes.
The bone dice may have slight irregularities in shape, size and colouring, but this does not really matter as long as all players play with the same dice.
The average side length of the dice is approx. 12 - 14 mm and is therefore slightly smaller than that of standard, modern dice.
