The medieval iron buckle in D-shape was forged after historical models from the Middle Ages and the Viking Age and fits belts with a width of 5 cm.
Buckles made of iron such as this hand-forged belt buckle were already made in Celtic and Roman times, and they can also be found in finds from the Germanic Iron Age and the Viking Age to the Middle Ages and the Renaissance.
