Viking belt fitting with the so-called "Birka wolf".
Detailed replica of a Viking belt fitting with the so-called "Birka wolf" after a historical model from Birka / Sweden.
Link to the original Birka-Wolf...
Belt fittings were very common during the Viking Age and are therefore
frequently found in the archaeological finds of this period.
Especially among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland and Russia, belt sets with belt fittings were often worn and often given as burial objects.
The "Birka Wolf" belt fitting
measures 2.2 x 1.8 cm.
It is suitable for belts with a width of 2.5 to 3 cm.
You can buy the "Birka-Wolf" belt stud in high-quality
bronze casting or in real
silver-plated.
Fastening: There are three pins on the back of Birka-Wolf. To fasten the fitting, simply insert them through the corresponding holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of each pin inwards a little. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the Birka wolf will be stable and flat on the belt.
