Replica of a Viking belt fitting in the shape of a heart.
This detailed replica of a Viking belt fitting in the shape of a heart was made after a find from the 10th century, which was found on Gotland. Link to the original belt fiting...
Such heart-shaped bronze belt fittings were typical of the magnificent belt sets of the Viking Age and were conveyed to Scandinavia by Rus and Magyars via the great trade routes. This is why bronze fittings in the shape of a heart are often found in Viking graves.
The heart-shaped belt fitting measures 2.1 x 1.9 cm.
Made of high-quality bronze and also available in real silver-plated.
Fastening: There are four pins on the back of the heart-shaped Viking fitting. To attach the belt fitting, simply pass them through the corresponding holes in the leather. Use pliers to bend the tip of the pin inwards a little. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the bronze fitting will be stable and flat on the belt.
