Belt and bag fittings were very common during the Viking Age and can therefore be found very often in the find material. Especially among the eastern Vikings in Sweden, Gotland and Russia, bags and belts with rich fittings were frequently worn and often given as burial objects.

The Viking strap fitting from Birka measures 1.5 x 1.3 cm.
The fitting is suitable for belts with a width of 1.3 to 1.5 cm.

The strap fitting is made of high-quality bronze and is also available in real silver-plated.

Fastening: There are four pins on the back of the Viking strap fitting. To attach it, simply pass them through the corresponding holes in the leather. It is best to use pliers to bend the tip of the pin inwards a little. If you then tap the pins flat with a hammer, the tip will sink into the leather and the strap fitting will be stable fixed.
