Viking Age strap divider set from Gotland.

Link to the historical model...

The Viking Age strap divider set consists of four parts made of high quality decorative bronze.

The single strap divider has the dimensions: 5.5 x 1.5 cm. The ring has a diameter of 2 cm.

The Viking strap divider set is suitable for straps with a thickness of 3 - 4 mm and a width of 2 - 3 cm. 6 double-headed rivets for fastening are included.

Strap dividers were quite common in the Viking Age and were found in Birka and on Gotland, as well as in Russia and other Viking settlement areas.

Strap dividers were used in the Viking Age to fasten the individual straps of a sword hanger or the suspension for a sax. They ensured that they hung at the optimum angle on the belt, ready to hand.
