Viking bone strap end from York.
This Viking strap end was carved from a piece of bone and is based on a historical example from the Coppergate in York.

Buckles and strap ends carved from bone were in use from the antiquity, and are also found in
several examples in the find material of the Viking Age and the Middle Ages.
The Viking bone strap end has an
oblong hole of 1.2 x 3 mm for fastening and is suitable for belts of 2 cm width.
