Medieval frying pan based on historical models.
Here you can buy a practical medieval frying pan with an elegantly forged handle.
In the kitchen of the late Middle Ages, a forged frying pan was an indispensable tool for preparing daily meals on the open fire.
Characteristic of this practical medieval frying pan are a short handle that allows easy handling and a strong, flat bottom that optimally stores and distributes the heat. The frying pan is therefore even suitable for cooking on an electric cooker.
The handle of the medieval frying pan is forged into a generously curved hook - so you can hang up the frying pan and store it in a space-saving way. The wide hook on the handle also supports the weight distribution when lifting, so that the medieval frying pan can be handled easily and comfortably.
The medieval frying pan is uncoated, scratch and cut resistant. It improves its frying properties with every use. Over time, a so-called patina forms in the frying pan, which protects against burning and rusting - provided the frying pan is not cleaned in the dishwasher and with too much Washing-up liquid ...
The medieval frying pan has approx. the following dimensions:
- diameter 24 cm
- Handle length 17 cm
- Rim height 2 cm
- Weight 1,5 Kg
Before using a medieval frying pan for the first time, it should be properly "fried". To do this, proceed as follows:
Pour plenty of high-heat vegetable oil into the medieval pan until the bottom is completely covered. As soon as the oil is hot, add raw potato slices or potato peelings to the pan with plenty of salt and fry everything well until the potatoes are dark brown.
Discard the fried food and rub out the pan with a household cloth (newspaper also does a good job) and some salt.
Rinse with clean water, dry well and store in an "airy" place.
This medieval frying pan is a historical prop that is produced in small quantities and therefore does not have any food safety certification. We are therefore obliged to give the following notice: Prop - not certified for food contact.
