Replica of a violin bow brooch from the Bronze Age.

Here you can buy a detailed replica of a Bronze Age violin bow brooch, made true-to-detail after an archaeological find.

The historical model for this Bronze Age clasp is a violin bow brooch from Norway, which comes from Rægje in Rogaland and dates from 1500 to 100 BC.

The original fibula was 13 cm long, so the replica is almost the same size as the original.

The violin bow brooch was used to fasten a woollen cloak in the Bronze Age. It was most likely used for both men and women.

Dimensions: 13 x 2.5 x 1.7 cm.

You can buy the brooch in high-quality bronze or genuine silver-plated.
Alternatively, you can also order it in 925 sterling silver (please note delivery time).

The violin bow brooch is a Bronze Age clasp that was used to hold clothing together. The name of the violin bow brooch is derived from its shape, which is vaguely reminiscent of the bow of a violin.

This Bronze Age fibula is the oldest and most original form of garment clasp, and probably developed from the spiral head pins of the Bronze Age. It is the forerunner of fibulae with a spiral pin design.

The violin bow brooch was already known in the 13th century BC and probably has an Italian or Greek origin, but can also be found in Germany and Scandinavia.
