Bone slab for knife making.
The bone slab is made of genuine water buffalo bone and is ideal for a stylish handle end or as an intermediate layer when making knives.
The knives of the Iron Age already used bone discs as a bolster between the blade and the handle. In the Viking town of Haithabu, a large number of bone discs were found that had been used on knives.
In the High Middle Ages, disc handles became popular, where the knife handle was decorated at intervals with a smaller or larger number of discs of different materials, or just with bone discs.
