Flat bone washer bead / 10 mm.

Disc shaped bone washer bead with a diameter of 10 mm made of real water buffalo bone.

This beautiful bone washer bead is a natural product, which was produced in laborious manual work. Each bead is a handmade unique piece and can therefore vary in shape and size more or less and not always have a perfect shape.

Our bone beads are made from the bones of water buffalo and are available in white, natural, brown or black color.

Size: approx. 10 mm diameter. Thickness 3 mm. The hole measures: approx. 1.5 mm.

Since the earliest days of mankind, bones of various animals have been processed into bone beads and other jewellery.

For our bone beads many different manual operations are used. Bone beads can be worked by mechanical processing such as turning, milling, carving and grinding or by thermal treatment such as burning and steaming and even polished to a shine. Like ivory, beads made of white bone can take on a slightly yellowish colour after a few years.
