Damascus knife blade with 256 layers.

Fine Damascus knife blade in the shape of blades from the Viking Age, made of genuine Damascus steel with 256 layers.

Hand-forged knife blades made of Damascus steel like these were already used by the Romans and Celts. However, such damask blades were also highly valued by the Teutons and Vikings because damascus knife blades combine hardness with elasticity in an excellent way - the blade is therefore both durable and unbreakable.

This fine damascus knife blade is perfect for making your own authentic knife at relatively low cost and for creating an individual one-of-a-kind piece that meets your own requirements in terms of form and function.

The Damascus knife blade is forged from two different types of steel: AISI 4340 is a hard tempering steel that has a low carbon content, contains nickel and chromium as well as molybdenum and has a high toughness, and 15N20 is a nickel-containing steel with good properties which, when processed in Damascus steel, produces beautiful bright sections and good contrasts.

Both steels together produce the beautifully mottled Damascus steel. Each piece forged from this steel has its own distinctive pattern. The hardness is 58 to 60 HCR Rockwell.

The Damascus knife blade has the following dimensions:
Blade length 18 cm
Blade width 2.5 cm
Blade back 3 mm
Cutting edge 10 cm
