Forged Solsnurra amulet of the Viking Age.

This iron pendant in the form of a rolled spiral was forged by hand according to the models of Viking Age sun wheel amulets.

Spiral motives as a symbol of a sun wheel are known in Scandinavia since the Bronze Age and can be found often in the archaeological material because the sun always had an important meaning for life for the peoples of the north.

From the Viking Age, several finds of such forged iron pendants rolled into spirals are known, which are called Solsnurra in Scandinavia

The Viking Age sun wheel pendant is provided with a forged eyelet. This allows the Solsnurra pendant to be worn around the neck with the leather strap or chain provided.

The dimensions of the forged Viking sun-spiral pendant are 5.5 x 3.5 cm.

The Viking pendant comes together with a black leather cord in 1 m length.
