The Oseberg style, also called Broa style, is an early Viking art style in Scandinavia that was common from the end of the 8th to the middle of the 9th century. The Oseberg style appears frequently on wooden and metal objects and jewellery from this period, and is named after its lead finds from the ship burial at Oseberg on the Oslo Fjord.

The Oseberg style usually consists of more or less stylized animal representations, similar to the preceding animal style III, but now supplemented by the so-called griffin animal.

The beasts, which appeared for the first time in the Oseberg style, gave the craftsmen of the Viking Age a decorative element whose parts could be arranged as they wished so that it harmoniously filled every conceivable shape.
