The Celtic Belt Hook of Glauberg.

The Celtic Belt Hook of Glauberg is an expressive masterpiece of Celtic craftsmanship dated back to the 5th century BC.

The Celtic Belt Hook dated to the early Latène period and has been found in grave 2 from Glauberg in Germany.

The original of the Celtic Belt Hook of Glauberg ...

The belt hook of Glauberg was originally made of solid bronze, our replica is made of brass- and silver-colored Zamak and differs in details slightly from the historical model.

On the back of the Celtic belt hook instead of a hook there is a pin, which can be hooked into the holes of the belt and by this certainly closes the belt.

The Celtic Belt Hook of Glauberg has the dimensions 7.3 x 4.3 cm. Suitable for belts in 4 cm width.

On the back 3 rivets are attached at which easily accompanying caps can be placed. With some slight hammer blows the Celtic belt hook thus can easily be attached.

In the 90s, a vast grave hill was excavated from the Celtic Latènezeit in the German place Glauberg. The Glauberg was in early Celtic time an important royal residence with a castle and a large cult area and thus a religious, economic and political center of the early Latène era.

Here were richly equipped tombs of three Celtic warriors from the 5th century BC excavated, belonging to the so far most magnificent of their time. In addition to the Celtic belt hook from Glauberg, a Celtic jug and a golden torque were found besides a magnificent fibula and an almost lifesize sandstone figure with unusual, prominent ears which is considered as an archaeological sensation and is well possible one of the buried Celtic chiefs.
