Guldgubber refers to one to two centimetre large figural gold plates from the Iron Age, which occur exclusively in Scandinavia. The largest number of Guldgubber was found on the Danish island of Bornholm, where about 2,500 gold plates were discovered at the "Sorte Muld" site near Svaneke alone.

Three main motifs can be distinguished in Guldgubber: Man, woman, kissing couples and animals. The function of the gold plates is not really clear, but they could have been votive offerings or means of payment in a ritual context.

Guldgubbers often show lovers embracing or kissing each other, which is interpreted as a marriage or fertility motif or as an image of a pair of gods. The earliest gold plate figurines were created in the Germanic Iron Age from around 375 and continued to be used until the Viking Age, with the heyday of the Guldgubber reaching its peak in the Vendel period between 550 and 800 AD.
